I think that it was my mistake in ordering it, as I really like my books in paper but preferably on my pad. You come to care for each of them through the other's eyes, so that when they separate, you know what each of them is feeling because you are feeling it yourself. I tend to like most books about France, however this book is not one of them. Finally, Hardy always pushed the boundaries of what was acceptable, and Two, like several of his other novels, was viciously attacked, even condemned, for undermining religion, law, and morality. I want a spin off or an update on the other two couples. It kept me entertained and wanted to read more. The smallest things distract him and make him late for all his appointments. I have fallen in love with Bess McBride's stories, this story was wonderful and they all have an alluring quality to them, basically they suck you in and you cant stop reading excellent read. Nor is he the only character that's a little over the top.

Great story as always, Carol Goodman is one of my favorite writers. They never disapoint. Always well written and engaging. I have read 5 or 6 of her books....
