I read this one for my Gothic Reading Challenge, and I highly recommend it to readers looking for a good ghost story, a contemporary read, a classic retelling, or a creepy Gothic tale. Mel, the main character is very witty with a great sense of humor and she certainly knows how to tell her story that so many other woman could or want to relate to. My only wish is that the foster "home" story would have been a little more fleshed out at the end.
