Despite the cruel tribulations recounted in the story, the book is notable for its gladness of spirit it isn't grim & forbidding quite the contrary: Ahmad's story is a sad one, but the man himself was not a sad person, & certainly not one given to self-pity. All in all, if you've got the blues, Faro's Daughter is definitely worth buying. The narrative style of the novel is highly readable, clear and straightforward, providing just enough detail to create a picture in the reader's mind while spare enough to keep the action moving right along. While a stone architecture is very common in Germany ( and generally in Europe), a clay architecture is commonly used in Iran. Loved this book and while it is heart-wrenching to read and see where America once was in their faith in God, and where she stands today, we still have hope if we will but turn back, we have allowed so many things to infiltrate the body of Christ within our nation.
