. This volume picks up with the War in progress and is about twice the length of the first volume ("The Army of Tennessee"). Mr Fleming did his homework for our benefit. "Brisingr" is the third book in "The Inheritance Cycle", and in some regards I enjoyed it more than the previous two books because it seems like there is some hope for Eragon in his upcoming battle against Murtagh and King Galbatorix. The characters are entertaining and interesting, I love the 1920s setting and the bits of history Alice Duncan has included (all of which I have found to be very accurate), and the understanding this has given me of the lives of people in that time period. Other editions (the one with the purple cover showing a bobble in a dessert scene, and the one with the cover showing a bobble in a valley with trees and mountains) are missing the middle story.
